About us
Tamilan Munnetra Kazhagam was started in 1975 by our forefathers who settled in the city of London in the early 1970s for the purpose of education, work and business according to the cycle of social needs. From the day of its inception till today, Tamil language has contributed to the development, maintaining our culture, culture and unity among us and proclaiming it to the world.
Apart from establishing Thiruvalluvar Tamil Palli so that our students can get to know Mother Tamil and get a solid education, the Tamil Development Association continues to do multi-faceted tasks like welcoming and addressing scholars visiting London from Tamil Nadu, leading discussions and supporting literary efforts. It is a happy news that the scholars who participated in the invitation of this organization and spoke are still in touch with us and guiding the development of our language. In times of calamity in Tamil Nadu and when the Tamils face crisis at the global level, the London Tamil Development Association has always been doing its best to help. In this way, Tamilar Munnetra Kazhagam, which has been working for Tamil for almost half a century, bows down to Tamil well-wishers like you, who are the cause of the protest, and looks forward to its golden jubilee soon.
About the School
On 14.10.1975 the Tamilan Munnetra Kazhagam took over the governance of Thiruvalluvar Tamil School. Tiruvalluvar Tamil School which started with seven students is now functioning with more than two hundred and seventy students. This school has the honor of being the first Tamil school started in European countries. Various teachers have worked hard for the development of this school through educational work.
Music class and dance class were started in Thiruvalluvar Tamil School. As a result, students of Thiruvalluvar Tamil School are showing their musical and dancing skills during school functions and during Pongal festival.
Conducted by the University of Cambridge, England. B. Th. 20 students appear in O Level examination and more than 15 students appear in A Level examination every year. Thiruvalluvar Tamil School is held weekly on Saturdays. The teachers working in this school are properly trained teachers. They are engaged in teaching Tamil with Tamil education and charity. Tamil educators visiting London have visited this Thiruvalluvar Tamil School. Tiruvalluvar Tamil School is responsible for providing the necessary textbooks and training for their students and conducting the examinations. Thiruvalluvar Tamil School is a place where Tamil children get education and virtues. Thiruvalluvar Tamil School has been doing high-level work like conducting literary festivals, annual festivals, releasing special flowers, and bringing scholars and dignitaries. Teaming up to celebrate the Golden Jubilee year, Thiruvalluvar Tamil School is making a huge contribution to the development of Tamil education in London.
